You can never have too much HAPPY!

I was chatting to someone the other day and the conversation swung to funny situations we had found ourselves in and we looked at each other and started laughing! You know that real uncontrollable belly laugh that takes your breath away, rocks your stomach and gives you lockjaw leaving a smile on your face for yonks’ after. It got me thinking about having that kind of fun in our daily life every day and I realized that so many of us are starved of fun and take our daily life far too seriously. You know when you get so on to it in the pursuit of a goal that you become that little hamster on the wheel going flat out rarely coming up for air right!  The type of fun I’m talking about is a super vitamin that is in short supply and we need to really start each day being aware of how we are feeling and being really mindful to pop our super fun vitamin each morning so we get a dose of fun and happy every day. If you are struggling with this and wondering how you can get this fun vitamin into your life each day then ask any kid around for some out of the ordinary fun ideas that will flick the switch on for you. Hey it can be as simple as making time to exercise and the easiest one is brisk walking anywhere outside or if you are working walk around your local shops. Exercise is the quickest way to transform your attitude creating a positive habit as it works on your endorphin’s and the brain chemicals that lead all the way to pleasure. Life is too short to wait until everything is perfect. Pop your fun vitamin each morning making time to do something fun daily and it will uplift your mood and stimulate your mind into a place filled with expectation, excitement, wonder and of course instant happiness.

Here are a few that might rock your boat and may even take you back to your childhood…

Walking out in Mother Nature anytime anywhere

Dancing to your favourite beats whenever you feel you need a dose of fun. This is so easy to do as you can stand on the spot and do some moves

Swing on the kids playground swings or slide down the slide YIPEE!

Run barefoot on the beach chasing a friend or your fury friend around

Do some handstands anywhere

Run outside and do a couple of cartwheels – love this

Skipping is a simple one and you can take your rope anywhere you go!

Jump on your bike and cruise the streets around where you live, you never know what you might discover

Waking Up To Self Confidence

Waking up to self confidence

This morning I was walking along the beach and it was not a perfect bluebird day, it was windy, a whole lot of rain and a lot of wild but I ventured out into the elements with my little fur buddy. I looked at him running up and down such a free spirit greeting all the other dogs with his head held high and all the other dogs would do the same to him and it dawned on me that self-confidence is all about living fully in your body! BOOM LIGHTBULB MOMENT! This is as true as when you look at any animals and horses show this off so well as they live fully in their bodies and move with a natural confidence, they face their fears and take risks and have complete trust in their abilities. Even athletes are the same they walk tall exuding confidence and respecting themselves seeing their life in a positive light. This is it time to give up the need to be perfect and stop comparing yourself with others. What I have found is if you are focusing on what is lacking in your life you tend to create that even more arrrrghhhh! Instead I find if you focus on what is good and what is working right now in your life with a grateful heart, gratitude can lift you out of the darkness in any moment and it is the key to experiencing more happiness. The cool thing is if you make a list of everything you are grateful for in your life it’s unique to you right. No one outside of you has experienced anything you have in the way you have just in the way that no one outside of you can give you the happiness that you seek as it has always been inside of you waiting for you to re-discover it. How cool is that.  To start the healing process towards living your life more confident is to forgive the younger you for not living up to your standards and say it out loud and ask yourself:

Who do I want to become?

What do I want to learn?

How do I want to feel?

What do I want to discover?

What do I want to achieve?

What I am going to change?

There is only one you with all your special treasures and you were made to be loved and experience happiness so keep dreaming and never ever give up on you. Life loves dancing in the moment so let your hair down and dance confidently, wild and free. Dance through your challenges and celebrations and be the joy and happiness you are fighting for and let joy and happiness become your north star. Whatever you are currently struggling to love and accept about yourself commit to healing, commit to gratitude, commit to self-care, self-trust, and the big one self-love because you are ENOUGH. Remember it all starts with self-love and this is the core of everything you do in life. So keep showing up, keep growing and keep releasing everything that doesn’t serve you and seek out the confident you lying deep inside. X  Dee

See your day through eyes of gratitude and happiness

Wake up gorgeous it’s a beautiful new day filled to the brim with new beginnings, new learnings, possibilities and wonderous wonder!

Do you wake up feeling excited and alive and ready to leap out of bed to a new day of delicious discovery or do you wake up and want to stay cocooned.

Here’s some awesome musings to gently awake your sweet soul and get connected again at one of the busiest times of year.

There is a scientific study saying that gratitude can be cultivated and it is a way of seeing the world. If you start each day from a more positive place it is a hell of a lot easier to maintain it. By learning to break negative habits and beliefs and start bringing gratitude and mindfulness into our daily lives we can all increase happiness in the present.

What they have found is that people who practice daily gratitude are:

25% happier and have hope and optimism – believing that what you do makes a difference

Have better relationships in all areas with more depth through social connections – we are wired to be social animals right!

They perceive stress as challenges instead of threats. Too little stress leads to poor performance the same as too much stress. The trick here is in understanding your personal optimal level of stress and that happy sweet spot in the middle so you can live at your true potential.

Have more meaning in their lives, a purpose to get out of bed every morning and be excited for the day. Purpose in life is having that connection between our values, strengths and our actions.

Exercise more and enjoy better health with less daily sickness

Are 20% more generous with their time and money

The happiest people are always the ones who are striving for the more challenging goals and dreams and who feel they are making a difference in the world. But often we are not consciously thinking of how happy we are until we are in distress and then think ‘Eeeeeek! I’m not happy’.

Here are some simple actions for you to start today:

Dedicate 15 minutes a day to Gratitude.

Using the power of gratitude can have a huge impact on how you think. Start off by doing the 3 good things exercise which is every night writing down 3 good things that you are grateful for and beside each one write down what made them good. So it doesn’t get boring keep switching it up and being creative with your writing and you can even add in some doodling! If you commit to doing this the results you will experience in a week, a month, 6 months and a year will be so powerful, it will completely change your life.

Another fantastic life changer which will have such a profound positive impact on you is to do ‘The Gratitude Visit’ this exercise comes from the founder and pioneer of positive psychology Marty Seligman.

Think of someone who has had a positive impact on you in your life and someone who you have never really thanked properly.

Brainstorm the positive effects they have had on your life.

Think of anything general and specific that this person has done for you and express your feelings with lots of detail.

Take as long as you need to write this letter and when you are ready hand write it on some beautiful stationary using a beautiful pen.

When you have finished call the person and arrange to meet up but don’t tell them about the letter. Then when you are together read your letter out to them and then give it to them.

Pay attention to your feelings when you read this letter and spend time with this person reflecting together.

This is such a powerful and potent booster of how you feel ever and will improve and increase your feeling of bliss and wellbeing on this planet immediately.

Sticks and stones may break my bones. But words will never hurt me.” WOW! This so much a lie right! Words hurt big time and linger sooo long and they have such massive power. Words are weapons and maybe heroes depending how you wield them right. So let go and wield them wisely with power and lots of love right let’s do this thing cos breakthroughs are sneaky and powerful and so many people have closed their eyes to their gorgeous inner soul so let’s be grateful this moment and open up. So for your sadness or your pain or your breakdowns everyday strive to be the reason someone else believes in all that is great in people. Use your words to heal and never to puncture. Be someone’s story to themselves they repeat back when they have lost faith in the world hey you can do this you got this big time and hey let’s make it happen tonight right this heartbeat moment cos it’s beating deep within us all this very moment.
